How to recover your Cluster Token on Don't Starve Together
The Cluster Token is an essential element for hosting a dedicated server on Don't Starve Together. It allows your cluster to be identified by Klei's servers and authorizes players to join your online world.
Step 1: Sign in on the Klei accounts site
Go to accounts.klei.com and sign in with the account that owns Don't Starve Together (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, PSN, Nintendo, or a standalone Klei account).
Step 2: Create a new server
On the page that appears, click "Add New Server". Give it a name (only to help you identify it on Klei's site, it doesn't need to match your server's name on Drooft), then confirm.
Step 3: Retrieve the token
A long string of characters then appears (usually prefixed with "pds-g^"): this is your Cluster Token. Copy it in full.
Step 4: Enter the token on Drooft
On your Don't Starve Together server's page, click the pencil icon next to "Cluster token" and paste the copied value there. Drooft then takes care of writing this token into the server's configuration on every start — no file handling is needed on your end.
Best practices
- Avoid sharing your Cluster Token publicly.
- Regenerate it if compromised (delete/regenerate button on the same Klei page).
- Keep a copy of the token before making any major changes to your server.
