How to generate a Sandbox code in 7 Days to Die
With update 3.0, 7 Days to Die introduces a new way to configure games and servers: the Sandbox Code. Its role is simple: it gathers together all the rules that define the gameplay experience.
What does a Sandbox Code contain?
The Sandbox Code is a string automatically generated by the game. Behind this sequence of letters lie more than 150 gameplay settings.
Among the settings it can contain:
- the overall difficulty level (Scavenger, Adventurer, Nomad, Warrior, Survivalist, or Insane)
- damage dealt and received
- zombie speed depending on the time of day
- Blood Moon rules
- the amount of available loot
- experience gains
- progression speed
- settings related to survival, crafting, and resources
- many other rules that define how the server works
In other words, the Sandbox Code represents your server's true difficulty profile.
How to generate a Sandbox Code?
Generation is done directly from the game by following these steps:
The game then automatically generates a Sandbox Code corresponding to all the selected settings. This code can then be pasted into the SandboxCode property of your dedicated server to apply exactly the same game rules.
